A mains pressure cylinder otherwise known as an 'unvented' cylinder, should ideally be serviced annually. The servicing of these cylinders involves checking the safety devices, expansion vessel's and thermostats for correct operation. 
 
Most manufacturers offer around a 25 year warranty on this type of cylinder, when serviced annually by a G3 qualified engineer.
